ABE

ABE = stands for Allgemeine BetriebsErlaubnis [allgemeine betriebserlaubnis] and is the highest classification of type approval for vehicles and accessories that is issued by KBA (Kraftfahrt Bundesamt [Federal Motor Vehicle Transport Authority]) in Germany. The approval is the accepted standard in the car industry in Europe. Simply put, it is an approval that the products conform to the relevant national regulations for product safety.

KBA is Germany’s authority for motor vehicles. The authority tests, approves and certifies, e.g. motor vehicle parts, according to TÜV tests.

ABE certificate

ABE certificate = is an attestation that consists of an ABE number, product description, type, holder of the ABE approval and manufacturer. This is received after the products have undergone very extensive and comprehensive tests for e.g. head impact test and splitter tests.

Comfort Armrest System® has been given the ABE certificate for all armrests in the Matchline series ML285, ML385, MLC310 with associated adapter brackets.

ABS

ABS = is a plastic material commonly used in the car industry and is used in the base of the armrest model MLC310 with a surface in the structure.

This ABS surface can be used as it is in its standard specification or coated in another way, e.g. Soft Touch Flocked/paint-coated processing.

Adapter

Adapter = is a bracket that is used as a holder for the Comfort armrest. The adapter is solid steel and specially manufactured for every car model. This makes it unique with a perfect fit and simple to mount on the seat.

Carry-Over system

Comfort Armrest System® is a smart and effective Carry-Over system that does not require any investment costs for tools.

This means that each car model needs a unique adapter that we at Sydmeko produce for a low development cost. When this is ready, there are many existing armrest models to choose from, which can be adapted by colour and material to match the interior for each specific model of car.

Chassis

Chassis = is the skeleton of the armrest, i.e. the load-bearing part of the construction. We mount the top and base on the steel chassis, which give our armrests their special design, comfort and high-loading capacity.

Comfort Armrest System®

Comfort Armrest System® = is an armrest Swedish-made system owned by Sydmeko Industri AB. The system has ABE-type approval and it is unique in that it can be mounted afterwards directly on the seat.

Mounting the armrest directly on the seat has many advantages, e.g. the solution is dynamic and follows every movement of the seat. This gives Comfort Armrest System® a comfortable and ergonomic seating position, regardless of how big/small or tall/short the occupant is.

The armrest is adjustable, foldable and adds room. A sustainable selection of material, compelling design, simple mounting and focus on ergonomics makes our armrests one of the most appreciated accessories on the market!

Ergonomics

Ergonomics = (from Greek “ergon” = “work” and “normos” = “law”) is the study of how methods of work and the working environment affect people.

Ergonomics means the study of customising work and environment to people’s needs and requirements. It often deals with the design of the workplace and working environment from a purely technical perspective so that the body is not subject to wear and tear unnecessarily, e.g. posture, working height, sound, light and climate and also how the body is used in a correct manner, e.g. pushing, pulling, carrying and body posture.

The comfort system is built on ergonomics, i.e. it must be comfortable to drive a vehicle regardless of whether it is for work or personal use!

Flocked

Flocked = is a fibre-coated surface that enhances the feel of quality of the armrest’s in the Comfort Armrest System® series. The material is approved in accordance with the standards of the automotive industry.

You can choose between a number of standard shades for the flocked surface and you can combine this material on the base with your preferred material for the top (fabric, leather or vinyl).

Composition leather

Composition leather = is a synthetically produced material that is similar to skin, leather or suede. This designation is sometimes used instead of vinyl, where the material can be chosen for the top of the armrest in the Comfort Armrest System® series. The material is approved in accordance with the standards in the automotive industry.
